1

Complete your profile

  • Open My Profile and check your name, email, phone and full address.
  • Fill in your bank details: account holder name, account number, bank name, branch and IFSC code. Payments are made to this account.
  • Change your password here after your first sign-in.
2

Add your books

One book at a time: click Add Bookstore (on My Books or Manage Books) and fill in:

  • Language, title, short title and category, cover image, ISBN (and E-ISBN, DOI if any), weight, pages and binding.
  • New / Pre-order with the release date, if the book is new or not yet out, and the tax percentage.
  • About Book, the authors and editors with their affiliation (Add More... for more names), and up to 10 preview images.
  • For each format you sell (Hard Copy, Paperback, Online, Kindle, Audio), give the MRP and sale price; the discount is worked out for you. Online/Kindle need a PDF file, Audio an MP3.
  • Click Add. An ISBN that is already on the site is refused.

Many books at once: open Upload Books (Excel).

  1. Download the Excel template and fill one book per row (up to 500 books per file).
  2. Upload the filled file. Every row is checked first and problems are listed by row; nothing is saved yet.
  3. When all rows are fine, confirm to add them. Add cover images and PDF/Kindle/Audio files afterwards from Edit in Manage Books.
3

Approval

  • A new book shows Pending Admin Approval in Manage Books. Gatha Cognition checks it and approves it; then it shows Approved and appears in the public bookstore.
  • Use Edit to correct a book at any time. Mark a book Inactive to take it off the bookstore without deleting it, and Active to show it again.
4

Your stock

Copies of your books can be held in two places, and they are always kept separate:

Your own stockCopies you keep. Website orders for them are sent by you. You add this stock yourself (below).
At Gatha CognitionCopies held in the Gatha Cognition store. Store sales and website orders sent by Gatha Cognition come from this stock.
  • To add your own stock, open Book Stock → New Purchase Request: choose the book, the type (Paperback or Hardcopy), quantity and price, and click Submit Request.
  • The request shows Pending Approval. Gatha Cognition approves it and sets the commission for these books; you then see it as Approved, with the commission and net amount.
  • The stock table shows, for each book, the total, sold and current stock, split into Your own stock and At Gatha Cognition.

A printed-book order comes to you only when your own stock has enough copies for it. If not, Gatha Cognition sends it from its stock. E-book, Kindle and audio orders always go to the publisher.

5

Send your orders

  • When a paid order for you comes in, the bell shows it and you get an email. Open Orders (it shows the number of new orders).
  • Click the order to see the books, quantities, amount and delivery address. Use Edit Order Address if the buyer asks you to correct it.
  • Print the address label, pack and send the books.
  • Set the item status to Dispatched when you send it, and to Delivered when it reaches the buyer, then click Update Status.
  • Filter the list by Paid, Dispatched, Delivered or Completed.
6

Shipping charges

  • In Shipping Charges, add your own rate tiers: From Amount, To Amount and the charge in Rs. (and $ for orders from abroad).
  • These rates are used for orders containing your books that you send. Shipping goes to whoever sends the order.
7

Sales, commission & payments

  • Ledger shows the total book price, Gatha Cognition’s commission, the net payable amount, the payments you have received and the balance.
  • Online orders you sent from your own stock and Gatha Cognition store sales are always shown separately, because their commission and shipping differ.
  • Sales & Payment Report gives the same figures for any period, book by book. Figures start from your account’s activation date.
  • The commission is taken on the book price only, never on shipping.
