Indexing

  • Crossref — every DOI with full metadata and references.
  • Google Scholar — citation tags and sitemap; Scholar decides what it lists and when.
  • ORCID — authors’ ORCID iDs carried in the metadata.
  • Applications — help preparing DOAJ and other indexing applications for hosted journals (Hosting + DOI and Full Publishing Partner).
  • ISSN — help applying for an ISSN for a new hosted journal.
  • No false promises — Scopus, Web of Science and other databases decide for themselves; we make sure your journal meets their technical requirements.

Frequently asked questions

What is a DOI?

A Digital Object Identifier: a permanent link (https://doi.org/…) that always leads to the article, chapter or book, even if its web address changes. It is how citations, reference lists and indexing services find and count your work.

Do our authors pay for DOIs?

No. Every article in our journals and every eBook edition of our books gets its DOI at no extra charge. Chapter DOIs for books are ₹100 per chapter, and included in our edited-volume packages.

Can you register DOIs for our journal on our own website?

No. Crossref allows a publisher to register DOIs only for the content it publishes. If your journal is hosted on our platform, we register its DOIs; if it is on your own website, your institution needs its own Crossref membership — we can guide you through applying.

What does a DOI cost for a hosted journal?

Up to 60 a year are included in the Hosting + DOI and Full Publishing Partner plans. Beyond that, or on the Hosting plan, ₹100 per article, and ₹50 per article for back issues more than 2 years old.

Our back issues already have DOIs. What happens to them?

They keep their DOIs. When a journal moves to our platform, the DOIs are transferred through Crossref and updated to point to the new article pages, so old links and citations keep working.

Will our journal be indexed in Scopus or Web of Science?

No publisher can promise that: indexing services decide for themselves. We make sure every article meets the technical requirements — registered metadata, citation tags, licences and archive — and on the Hosting + DOI and Full Publishing Partner plans we help prepare applications such as DOAJ.

Is our journal on Google Scholar?

Every article page carries the citation tags Google Scholar reads, and our sitemap lists every article. Google Scholar decides what it lists and when.

What is CrossMark?

A Crossref button on the article that tells readers whether they are reading the current version, and links to any correction or retraction.
